Councilman Diego Bernal announces San Antonio Bus Pass Meal
Councilman Diego Bernal, in conjunction with Haven for Hope, VIA and the San Antonio Tourism Council, announces the San Antonio Bus Meal Pass. This initiative is in response to recent changes made to City Ordinance No. 100380, Mun. Code Sec. 21-29 (Aggressive Solicitation). The Bus Meal Pass offers an alternative for the homeless who truly seek a warm meal and access to social services; and to San Antonians and visitors wishing to assist the homeless. The Pass is free of charge to the recipient and may be used for a one-way ride on VIA Bus Route 77 to Haven for Hope facilities. Two thousand passes are currently being circulated through Councilman Bernal's office, Downtown Alliance Amigos and Ambassadors, downtown businesses, and associations for dissemination to homeless individuals.
