Centro San Antonio Ambassadors Amigos, Streetscaping Amigos and Maintenance Amigos offer support to a variety of programs, businesses and residences of downtown.
Centro holds a strong presence each month at the Houston Street Fair and Market by assisting with set-up and clean-up as well as hosting an information booth. The Amigo presence at the fair also continues with an Amigo dressing like a clown and handing out free balloons to children at the fair.
Centro assists city programs like Luminaria and Fresh Air Friday with set-up and clean-up as well as offered support during the event by sharing information with participants and passing out promotional materials. Ambassador Amigos also offer tour guide assistance to visiting groups and are supporting tours of the new Museum Reach of the River. One of Centro’s favorite events to participate in is the Fiesta Flambeau Parade and each year the Amigos build a float unique to the ideas of Centro and Downtown. Last year, Centro San Antonio held a food drive which resulted in a collection of over 150 tons of food which was delivered to the Food Bank of San Antonio. Part of Centro San Antonio’s mission is to offer support to programs in downtown and to give back to the community.
