The Palm to honor Centro San Antonio Amigos in celebration of National Tourism Week

In celebration of National Tourism Week, The Palm San Antonio will host the Centro San Antonio Amigos for lunch in appreciation of their dedication to making downtown a friendly destination for guests from near and far. While the Amigos are invited to dine al fresco, they will be looked over by not only The Palm’s attentive staff but the smiling “faces” of San Antonio’s leading businessmen, politicians and celebrities whose caricatures line the restaurant’s famed walls. Often called “the face of San Antonio,” themselves, the workforce of more than 65 Amigos provide a host of services that improve downtown through the Ambassador, Streetscaping, and Maintenance programs.

Our goal is to create a vibrant 24/7 downtown, a place that's alive with residents and visitors…” Downtown Alliance is excited to bring author of “Live First, Work Second,” Rebecca Ryan, together with Mayor Castro to address the issues San Antonio faces in not only making downtown “great,” but also making it a place that the next generation would choose to “live first.” Private companies, government, planners, developers, and anyone interested in the future of their business and the future of our city should benefit from this dynamic presentation.

The Downtown Alliance of San Antonio (DTA) and Centro San Antonio (Centro) launched www.downtownsanantonio.org – a new Web site providing visitors, residents and business owners a wealth of online resources for navigating and exploring downtown San Antonio. Designed and produced by local, award-winning branding firm Toolbox Studios, Inc., the new site categorizes and maps downtown destinations using Google’s Map tools, and is poised to become the definitive online resource for the city center.
