as a way to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle
of San Jacinto. That commemoration still takes place. But over the past
century and more, Fiesta has grown into a celebration of San Antonio's

The Downtown Resident’s Association (DRA) is organizing a
community-wide “National Night Out” (NNO) celebration on October 5, 2010 at
Hemisfair park for downtown San Antonio. In its 27th year, National Night out
is a crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town
Watch. Neighborhoods across the country come together to celebrate community
and foster relationships to prevent crime. Nationally, the event had over 36
million participants last year.

Latino Family Expo is the largest Hispanic consumer show in the
country. It is free and open to the general public. The Expo will be
held at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday
and Sunday, July 10-11 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Monday,
July 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The expo hall will be divided
into seven different pavilions, allowing participants to experience a
variety of activities. Additionally, Monday will highlight services and
activities geared toward the San Antonio senior population.
