The 2010 International Convention of Alcoholics Anonymous will be held
July 1-4 in San Antonio, Texas with the theme “A Vision for You.” A.A.
members and guests from around the world will celebrate A.A.’s 75th year
at this event with big meetings held Friday night, Saturday night and
Sunday morning in the Alamodome. Other meetings, scheduled or informal,
will take place throughout the weekend in the San Antonio Convention
Center and local hotels.

The Downtown Resident’s Association (DRA) is organizing a
community-wide “National Night Out” (NNO) celebration on October 5, 2010 at
Hemisfair park for downtown San Antonio. In its 27th year, National Night out
is a crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town
Watch. Neighborhoods across the country come together to celebrate community
and foster relationships to prevent crime. Nationally, the event had over 36
million participants last year.

The National
Latino Family Expo is the largest Hispanic consumer show in the
country. It is free and open to the general public. The Expo will be
held at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday
and Sunday, July 10-11 from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Monday,
July 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The expo hall will be divided
into seven different pavilions, allowing participants to experience a
variety of activities. Additionally, Monday will highlight services and
activities geared toward the San Antonio senior population.

Downtown Alliance’s 7th
annual Urban Spaces event is scheduled for Friday Nov. 19. The fun-filled
guided walking tour will cover downtown's most exciting residential,
commercial, and cultural spaces of downtown San Antonio. Food and drinks will be served along the way,
and the tour will culminate with an ending reception at Rio Plaza, with one of the best rooftop view of downtown. Space is limited, so
please RSVP today and sign up for your preferred time slot. Tours leave every
half hour beginning at 4pm. Student and military discounts are also available.

music and fun! Watch as 10,000 rubber ducks race through the San Antonio
River Walk. A few lucky ducks will win grand prizes! Proceeds from
Duck Sales benefit the Paseo del Rio Association and Haven For Hope, a
new homeless campus in Downtown San Antonio.
