Local artists as well as the public are invited
to contribute to an interactive Collaborative Community Drawing. Taking its
inspiration from the "exquisite corpse" drawings by the Surrealists during the last
century, a 5x33-feet long drawing will unfold in the school's Navarro Lobby
Gallery, as people contribute to it. Some of the Texas Draws II exhibiting
artists have already committed to contributing, as have a number of local
artists including Jung Mun and Greg Johnson. The art school will have basic
drawing materials including pencils, charcoals, monochrome pastel and pens
available. When completed, the mural will be photographed for posterity.

is a community art project that temporarily demonstrates how to revitalize and
area with bicycle, pedestrian and transit infrastructure mixed with art,
culture and street life. As part of the City of San Antonio’s Complete Streets
initiative, the community is invited to help build a Better Block at the
intersection of East Jones Ave. and Broadway Street near Maverick Park. The

A Síclovía is a non-competitive event that temporarily turns busy city
streets into large recreational areas for people to enjoy. The street
can be used for anything from bicycling and jogging to skateboarding and
dodge ball. The idea is to get out, get active and enjoy your
community.This car free day is an opportunity for people to
enjoy their city in a new way. It gives them opportunity to ride down a
major street on a bike with thier family with out the fear of cars.Along the Síclovía route there are areas called Reclovías. Reclovías
are areas reserved for physical activity, exhibitors, performances and
activity demonstrations, designed to get people moving. In addition to
group exercise classes, Reclovias often include, live music, food
vendors and many other healthy events.
