In April 2011, the City of San Antonio and Centro Partnership commissioned HR&A to produce the Strategic Framework Plan for the Center City. The team conducted planning through research and analysis, community meetings, stakeholder consultations, and close collaboration with Centro's board and City officials. Jamie Torres Springer, partner with HR&A, will present the final report and the recommendations to support growth of the Center City in order to meet the goals set forth by the community in SA2020.

Tuesday, April 17 at 5:30 p.m., Bohanan’s Restaurant & Bar, the San
Antonio River Foundation and Rio San Antonio Cruises will join forces for a
celebration at Bohanan’s Restaurant & Bar in which all three businesses
will unveil their 2012 Fiesta medals and celebrate the river, with cocktail
proceeds benefiting the San Antonio River Foundation. The community is invited
to this medal unveiling.

Fiesta San Antonio is an 11-day celebration of the spirit of San Antonio
with parades, festivals, art shows, musical performances, games,
parties, sports tournaments, and kid-friendly events. What started as a
one-day parade in 1891 to commemorate the history of Texas has evolved
to over 100 events.

The Paseo del Rio Association will host a Military River Parade on Armed Forces Day, May 19, 2012 to salute our military.
The parade will begin at 3 pm in the Arneson River Theater and wind through the
River Walk, complete with 25 professionally decorated floats. All branches of
the military will be represented, as well as many military support
organizations. Reserved seats may be purchased for $10 and $15 for certain
sections of the River Walk. Other areas will be free and open to the public.

groups, businesses, local high schools and Fiesta royalty. Giant helium
balloons, beautifully-decorated, horse-drawn carriages and antique cars,
along with uniformed cavalcades thrill spectators. Interspersed
throughout the Parade are military, college, and high school bands.

Early Voting Starts April 30! Election Day is May 12!
On May 12th, 2012 San Antonio voters will have the opportunity to vote
on $596 million in capital improvements — better streets, safer
sidewalks, reduced flooding and new and improved parks, libraries, fire
stations and museums — all over the city. This is an opportunity to
invest in San Antonio's future, but only if voters step up and vote yes on the City of San Antonio 2012-2017 Bond Program.
