Valentines Day Downtown

They say downtown San Antonio is one of the most romantic destinations in the country. Here's our list of things to do and places to go with those you love this weekend, including a list of restaurants offering special Valentine's Day menus.

ácenar, 146 E. Houston St., (210) 222-2362. Valentine’s menu available Feb. 12-14, beginning at 5 p.m. A la carte menu, $6-$8 for starters, $15-$20 for entrées and $6-$7 for dessert. Visit www.acenar.com.

Aldaco’s at Historic Sunset Station, 1174 E. Commerce St., (210) 222-0561. $40 plus tax and gratuity for four-course dinner that includes choice of appetizer, soup or salad, entrée and dessert. Available Feb. 13-14. Free parking. Visit www.aldacos.net/valentines.html.

Biga on the Banks, 203 S. St. Mary’s St., (210) 225-0722. $55 per person or $75 per person with paired wine for three-course dinner of appetizer, entrée and dessert. Special Valentine’s Day menu available Feb. 12-14. Call for reservations; credit card guarantee with a 24-hour cancellation or $25 per person no-show fee.

Bohanan’s Prime Steaks and Seafood, 219 E. Houston St., (210) 472-2600. Valentine’s specials such as lobster, oysters and prime beef are on the menu as well as chocolate strawberries and tableside flambé desserts. Visit !www.bohanans.com.

Boudro’s on the Riverwalk, 421 E. Commerce St., (210) 224-8484. $30 per person, plus tax and gratuity, for beef tenderloin and lobster tail with sides. Baked Alaska for two, $15 plus tax and gratuity. Special available after 4 p.m. on Feb. 13-14. Red roses provided for all guests. Open 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Regular menu available.

Casbeers at the Church, 1150 S. Alamo St., (210) 271-7791. Casbeers Valentines Day Champagne Jazz Brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 14. $14 per person. The all-inclusive menu includes an appetizer, choice of entrée, dessert and complimentary glass of champagne. Live music by Bett Butler and Joel Dilley.

The County Line, 111 W. Crockett St., is open on Valentine’s Day, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. No specials; reservations not accepted.

Insignia Restaurant, The Fairmount Hotel, 401 S. Alamo, (210) 224-8400. Six-course meal, $65 per person or $90 per person with matching wine pairings, plus tax and gratuity (plus $10 beef supplement fee, if selected).

La Frite Belgian Bistro, 728 S. Alamo St., (210) 224-7555. $55 four-course menu includes soup, salad, entrée and dessert. Available 6-10 p.m. Feb. 12-13 and 5-10 p.m. Feb. 14.

Las Canarias, 112 College St., (210) 518-1063. Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu begins at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 12-14. $90 per person or $175 for couples, noninclusive of tax, gratuity or alcoholic beverages. Regular à la Carte dinner menu available as well. Special champagne brunch, $38.95 noninclusive of tax, gratuity and additional alcoholic beverages, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 14 as well as regular Sunday brunch offerings.

Las Ramblas, The Hotel Contessa, 306 W. Market St., (210) 298-8040. $90 per couple plus tax and gratuity for prix fixe four-course dinner available 5:30-11 p.m. Feb. 13 and 5:30-10 p.m. Feb. 14. Regular menu available as well.

Le Midi Restaurant, 301 E. Houston St., (210) 858-7388. $65 per person includes choice of appetizer, entrée and dessert. Dinner only.

Little Rhein Steak House, 231 S. Alamo St., (210) 225-2111. $68 per person plus tax and gratuity for four-course Valentine’s dinner. Regular menu also available. Opens at 5 p.m. Patio dining and valet parking available.

Morton’s The Steakhouse, 300 E. Crockett St., (210) 228-0700. Three-course menu, $99.99 for two, not including tax and gratuity, includes choice of salad, entrée and dessert. Estancia Pinot Noir, Monterey or Franciscan Sauvignon Blanc, Napa, an additional $45 per bottle. Special not on menu and must be mentioned; offer good through March 31.

Pesca on the River, 212 W. Crockett, (210) 396-5817. Valentine’s Day special on Feb. 14 beginning at 5:30 p.m., in addition to regular à la carte menu.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House, 1170 E. Commerce St., (210) 227-8847 and 7720 Jones Maltsberger Road, (210) 821-5051. $160 per couple plus tax and gratuity, special includes choice of appetizer, soup or salad, choice of entrée and side and dessert for two.

Zinc Bistro and Wine Bar, 207 N. Presa, (210) 224-2900. $60 per couple plus tax and gratuity meal features a salad, entrée and dessert. Special on “J” Cuvee “20” sparkling wine for $25 per bottle. Available Feb. 13-14. Red roses given to all guests. Open 3 p.m.-2 a.m. Dinner served until 10 p.m.

Zocca, 420 W. Market, Westin Riverwalk, (210) 444-6092. $45 per person a special four-course menu on Friday-Sunday. Reservations are “indispensable.”

Indulge in some “sloppy kisses” and “heavy petting” at Grand Hyatt San Antonio’s Bar Rojo this Valentine’s Day. San Antonio pet lovers are invited to bring their furry friends to the hotel hot spot on Sunday, February 14, from 5-7:30 p.m. for a fetching good time. Guests can enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres including Freshly Prepared Pasta, Stir-Fried Noodles, and Roasted Chicken and Asian Vegetables. And of course no Valentine’s Day celebration would be complete without Chocolate Covered Strawberries!
