Food trucks to occupy Madison Square Park, Alamo Plaza in the evening

The downtown mobile food truck program is going mobile. Part of the program placed food trucks at Travis Park in the evenings once a month. Tonight, the trucks move to Madison Square Park, 400 Lexington Ave., 6-9 p.m., with Apizza Mia and Silly Goose serving grub.

Band of the West to perform twice at Arneson

The United States Air Force Band of the West kicks off Memorial Day weekend with a pair of shows at the Arneson River Theatre. The band's Gateway Brass section will perform popular and patriotic music from 7-8 p.m. Thursday. And the Southwest Winds will perform a similar program 10-11:30 a.m. Friday. Both concerts are free. The USAF Band of the West is based at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

Deputy city manager named Downtowner for 2012

Downtown hearts San Antonio City Hall.

For the third year in a row, the Downtowner of the Year is a city of San Antonio official.

Deputy City Manager Pat DiGiovanni on Friday received the honor from the Downtown Alliance, following in the footsteps of previous winners Paula Stallcup, the city's director of downtown operations (who in 2011 shared the award with the deceased artist Chuck Ramirez), and Mayor Julián Castro in 2010.
