Food trucks to occupy Madison Square Park, Alamo Plaza in the evening

The downtown mobile food truck program is going mobile. Part of the program placed food trucks at Travis Park in the evenings once a month. Tonight, the trucks move to Madison Square Park, 400 Lexington Ave., 6-9 p.m., with Apizza Mia and Silly Goose serving grub.

Band of the West to perform twice at Arneson

The United States Air Force Band of the West kicks off Memorial Day weekend with a pair of shows at the Arneson River Theatre. The band's Gateway Brass section will perform popular and patriotic music from 7-8 p.m. Thursday. And the Southwest Winds will perform a similar program 10-11:30 a.m. Friday. Both concerts are free. The USAF Band of the West is based at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.

Once again, there is talk of bringing a grocery store to San Antonio’s increasingly cosmopolitan downtown area, 1200 WOAI’s Joshua Cook has learned.

  “We’re actually talking about it, and I think that is the most exciting thing,” Melissa Burnett with the Downtown Alliance told 1200 WOAI news.
