Free movies will be shown every Thursday from June until the end of
September in the grassy area near the HemisFair Park arch and the Magik Theater
at S. Alamo and Nueva. Show time begins at 7:30 p.m. with a pre-show
entertainment followed by a brief intermission and the feature film beginning at

Downtown Alliance’s 7th
annual Urban Spaces event is scheduled for Friday Nov. 19. The fun-filled
guided walking tour will cover downtown's most exciting residential,
commercial, and cultural spaces of downtown San Antonio, including some of the
best penthouse views of the city. Food and drinks will be served along the way,
and the tour will culminate with an ending reception. Space is limited, so
please RSVP today and sign up for your preferred time slot. Tours leave every
half hour beginning at 4pm. Student and military discounts are also available.
Today, September 2, 2010, after a public hearing, the City
Council unanimously approved the Service and Assessment Plan for the Centro San
Antonio Amigo Program for the fiscal year 2010-2011
San Antonio, TX -- September 1, 2010 -- The Artist
Foundation of San Antonio (AF) announced today the beginning of its 2010
grant application period. This year, up to eleven (11) $5,000 awards will
be made in the categories of Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Literary Arts,
Media Arts, Classical Singing, Theatre Set Design and Costume Design.
The heat this summer hasn't
kept the Amigos from getting out and giving back. In August, the Amigos
participated in a Red Cross Blood Drive, got "locked up" to help the
Muscular Dystrophy Association, canoed in the famed Riverwalk for the annual
Boy Scouts Canoe Race, and will support Paseo Del Rio's first annual Lucky Duck
Race to benefit Haven for Hope.
