Public Meeting - Revitalization of Travis Park

The City of San Antonio’s Center City Development Office has engaged Project for Public Spaces Inc. (PPS) to assist the City of San Antonio, the community and area stakeholders to create a vision and concept plan for the revitalization of Travis Park. Initial meetings were held in March of 2013.

PPS is returning on May 23, 2013 from 6-7 pm to present the draft concept plan at the St. Anthony Hotel located at 300 East Travis Street. PPS will be utilizing an “open house” format.  The public will be able to go to a station presenting  the draft concept and see a short presentation on a loop. The public is welcome anytime between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm to take a look at the draft, ask questions and provide feedback.

Center City Open House

The first Center City Open House will take place on May 21st from 6 to 8 pm at 201 W. Commerce. Hosted by  Center City Development Office, the Office of Historic Preservation and the Department for Creative and Cultural Development, this  unique “matchmaking” event to brings together downtown’s underutilized vacant spaces with potential tenants and developers. There will be an array of music and art activating the historic space. Free Tail Brewery and Ming’s Things will be providing beverages and hors d’oeuvres.

City enticing Sigma to move

San Antonio-based Sigma Solutions Inc. is close to a deal to relocate its headquarters to the city's core.

City Council approved an ordinance Thursday that awarded Sigma Solutions a $500,000 economic development grant to move downtown. The incentive comes as the city works to reinvigorate the urban core by getting more companies to locate in the area.

SAN ANTONIO - Centro Partnership, the new entity comprised of local leadership from both the public and private sectors and tasked with downtown San Antonio redevelopment, announced today that Deputy City Manager Pat DiGiovanni has been hired as the organization's new Chief Executive Officer.
